[bold] In the spring of 1998, Nave started with Jojo Mayer as a pioneering experimental platform for a new paradigm of live "electronic" music by New York musicians interested in intelligent electronic and DJ culture.
Their idea is to break down and analyze electronic music once and reconstruct the textures and rhythms of digital production into live performances. Drums, basss, keyboards, and sound processing are all performed live, and all sounds and rhythms are made in real time without using any loops, sequencing, or pre-production.
Due to Nave's unique concept, all recordings are performed live without using any programming or other means.
These early recordings and new recordings for 2010 have finally been released as "Nerve/Prohibited Beats".
Nave's members include Jojo Mayer, keyboard and trumpet Takuya Nakamura (a member of Marianne and Nic Grobes Olga, as well as Art Linzei, Brasilian Girls, and Vinis Cantria) and Bassist John Davis (Producer James Denger Mouth, Multi-Generationer, The John Keys, and the Bassist. [/bold]
