John Dankan (Bologna) started working in Los Angeles in the 1970s and later moved to Tokyo and Amsterdam, and is currently based in Italy. He has also interacted with members of the group LAFMS, a group of sound artists who have been active avant-garde on the west coast of the United States since the 1970s, and visual artists who have been active mainly in performances such as Alan Kaprou. He pursues expressions using sound in various ways and media, such as installations, shortwave radios, and his own labels, and has also presented many collaborative works. The album "Bitter Earth" was released in 2016, recording covers of Iggy Pop, Nina Simone, The Four Tops, etc. with JIm O'Rourke, the Necks' Chris Abrahams, Oren Ambarchi, Carl Michael von Housswolf, Eiko Ishibashi, etc. It fully conveys the primitive infinite possibilities and charms of human voices.
Jim O'Rourke <Jim O'Look>
Born in Chicago in 1969. He encountered Derek Bailey's music, and a 13-year-old Jim visits Bailey in London. He opened his eyes on guitar improvisation and presented works with strong experimental elements, produced John Fahey's work, and participated in local Chicago bands and projects such as Gastr Del Sol and Loose Fur. On the other hand, he worked with Takehisa Kosugi on the music of the Merce Cunningham Butohdan, and worked with composers such as Tony Conrad, Arnold Dreyblatt, and Christian Wolff to bridge contemporary music and post-lock. In 1998, he released "Bad Timing" from the genealogy of ultra-modern Americanna, and in 1999 he released "Eureka", a solo album that mixes folk and minimal music, and received great attention. From 1999 to 2005, he worked as a member and music director of SonicYouth and gained extensive support. In 2004, he won the Grammy Prize as a producer of Wilco's A Ghost Is Born, and was highly regarded as a leading creator of the contemporary American music scene, producing numerous artists in Western Europe. In addition, he has a deep knowledge of Japanese culture, and in recent years he has an activity base in Tokyo. Many production works in Japan include Kururi, Himi Kali, and Eiko Ishibashi. He has collaborated with Akira Sakata, Yoshihide Otomo, Seiichi Yamamoto and Boadoms, and has released a variety of works ranging from contemporary music, including Toru Takemitsu's work "Corona Tokyo Realization" (2006). He has many collaborations with filmmakers and is in charge of soundtracks for directed works by Werner Herzog, Olivier Assayas, Shinji Aoyama, and Kyoji Wakamatsu.
Joe Talia <Joe Talia>
A drummer/producer/sound engineer from Melbourne. He is currently based in Japan. Originally acclaimed as a drummer in the contemporary jazz/ improvisation world, he has participated in numerous projects including Andrea Keller Quartet and duo with Oren Ambarchi, but in recent years he has been active as a solo and a duo with James Rushford, as well as an outsider singer-songwriter, including Nedé Collette, Francis Plagne, and Yuko Kono. As a studio engineer, he has a mix of albums such as NAZORANAI (Oren Ambarchi Stephen O'Malley Keiji Haino), Keiji Haino Jim O'Rourke Oren Ambarchi Trio, Richard Pinhas, and produced, recorded and mixed mastering albums for various musicians, mainly in Australia.
Hideko Ishibashi
A musician from Mobara City. After working in several bands, he started making solo works several years ago, starting with the production of film music. After that, he released 6 solo albums. Each album has been highly acclaimed, including being selected as the best of the year for music magazines. A multi-player who plays drums, flutes, vibraphones, etc. while mainly playing piano. Participate in works and live performances such as YOU ASSHOLE. He also works on film music. Along with the solo live, he will also be active as a band "Eiko Ishibashi with dead people (Jim Oluk, Toshiaki Sudo, Tatsuhisa Yamamoto, Atsuko Hatano)". The 4th Al "imitation of life" and the latest work "car and freezer" released in 2014 will be released worldwide from the prestigious Indian label "Drag City" in the United States. In the spring of 2016, DUO works with Merzbow were released on the electronic music label Editions Mego.
