Born in Brickston, London. A key person connecting punk and reggae.
Along with Vivien Westwood and Marcom McLaren's Gonzo, Don Let's, who ran the shop "Akume Attracts", which was the centerpiece of London culture, attracted attention from its Attitudes for its dubleggae, which vibrates fashion and shop walls with heavy sneaks. "Akume Attractions" played the role of a salon where punks such as pre-formation SEX PISTOLS, THE CLASH, and THE SLITS gathered on a daily basis and exchanged ideas.
His first DJ, ROXY, was a 100-day limited business, but it became a legend by conveying the charm of reggae to Punks. After learning the true DIY spirit from that experience, he is also active as a filmmaker. He shot images of those days in real time and produced the first punk documentary film "PUNK ROCK MOVIE" in 1979. It is also known for supervising most of the related videos of THE CLASH. 'In the mid-1980s, he worked with MICK JONES and BIG AUDIO DYNAMITE, who withdrew from THE CLASH, played a central role in sound with innovative sample use.
In parallel with music activities, he produced many music videos, BOB MARLEY, GIL SCOTT-HERON, SUN RA, GEORGE CLINTON, etc., and won the Grammy Award in 2025 for THE CLASH documentary "WESTWAY TO THE WORLD".
And in 2025, he produced "PUNK:ATTITUDE" which approaches the core of punk.
In addition, he continued to work and DJ in the name of DUB CARTEL SOUND SYSTEM, and has remixes such as SCIENTIST's "Step It Up" and PRINCE ALLA PABLO MOSES "GREAT STONE ONE PEOPLE", and the soundtrack of <ROXY CLUB> "DREAD MEETS PUNKROCKERS" PUNKRON 2" in the PUNKERN" in 2.
'21 Participated as a selector in Late Night Tales, a popular competition series around the world. He earned praise with his own dubout selection.
'23 Released his first album "Outta Sync" under his solo project, "REBEL DREAD" in 2023. In the album, the late Terry Hall and Hollie Cook participated in guest vocals.
She has her own program, Culture Clash Radio, every Sunday at BBC RADIO 6 Music.
This is the first visit to Japan in six years, and this is a tour commemorating the launch of "Hatchuck", a friend of Don's 18 years, who has been operating the London brand "CHOKE" with Eric Clapton and others, and the wear brand "REBEL DREAD HARDWARE" established by Don Let's in 2025.
