Born in London in 1951. After graduating from the Department of Japanese Language at London University, he came to Japan in 1974 to work for a music publisher. Currently active as a free broadcaster, he is in charge of "Barakan Beat" (Inter FM), "Weekend Sunshine" (NHK-FM), "Lifestyle Museum" (Tokyo FM), "Japanology Plus" (NHK BS1). He has authored "Take Stock Stock for the 21st Century that I can't let go of" (Komakusa Publishing), and many others.
