PROFILE
Born in San Francisco in 1981. When he learned drums from his father, a doctor, when he was seven years old, he encountered music, and at the age of nine he started making music by himself. He started banding with friends in 1993 and formed "Radish" in 1996 and made a major debut. Although it was only three years of activity, he performed at many festivals such as Loraparosa and gained popularity.
After the band was dissolved, he moved to NY to improve his skills in the underground scene. And in 2002, he released his 1st solo album, SHA SHA. The song "Wasted & Ready" is the top of the modern rock chart on the billboard.
The tour with The Strokes was also highly acclaimed. The following year, he performed his first performance in Japan, and formed the band "The Benz" with Ben Folds and Ben Lee. In 2004, Ethan Jones, who worked on Kings of Leon and others, was the producer and presented the second "On My Way". We conducted a large-scale tour to ensure its popularity.
In 3rd "Ben Kwler," released in 2006 with Gil Norton (which also works on Fu Fighters, etc.) as a producer, he plays all his instruments and demonstrates his talent as a multi-player. In 2009, he released the album "Changing Haoses," which pursues American roots rock sounds such as forks and blues. At the same time as drawing his new frontier, he also attracted a different listener. In private, he is currently two fathers. Recently, he is based in Texas, where he lived when he was young.
And in February 2012, the fifth album "Go Fly a Kaito" was completed. He founded his own label "The Noise Company" and was self-produced at a studio in Austin (currently closed). "The previous album was a new listener, but the reputation of those who liked my music so far seems to have been bad (laughs)," he said, "I returned to the origin in this album. A rock-and-roll sauna with a melody full of popness, emotion approaching the center of the heart with a strike.
It's finished with lots of threads.
"In fact, this album was based on a sad event. But life is not just bad things. Because of the painful things, happy moments seem more important, or is that the beginning of a new journey? I came to think about it. It was my precious friends who taught me that. This album also gives thanks to them."
NEW ALBUM "Go Fly A Kite" released on February 8th
