Michael Blanco (composer, arranger, pianist, percussionist), who is attracting attention as the most talented musician of today's young Cuban musicians, has decided to carry out his first tour of Japan this summer. In 2004, he formed his own orchestra "Salsa Mayor" at the young age of 23. In a blink of an eye, he became famous both in Japan and overseas as one of the directors of the orchestra representing the Cuban Salsa world. While maintaining the clear concept of protecting the roots of Cuban music, he continues to attract salsa fans around the world with modern sounds that reflect the times, novel and youthful images. Not only in Central and South America, but also in the United States and Europe, he has received high praise for his high musicality and entertainment live performances, and in 2006 and 2007 he was the best group of Cuba popular music in Italy, and as an artist who performed the best concerts in Paris. Currently, he has toured Europe in 15 European cities, including France, Germany, Switzerland, Italy and Spain. For Japanese salsa fans, only the long-awaited first visit to Japan will be one of the most popular performances this summer. What is the Bibella Salsa Tour? This tour, which the Latin Cultural Center Tienpo has been planning and conducting every summer since 2002, is a nationwide tour by overseas main bands performing at the Latin festival "Isla de Salsa" held in Fukuoka. Through this tour, we experience the music played by world-class artists together and propose exchanges across the country that transcends the boundaries of race, gender, age, and nationality. This tour attracts a lot of attention and participants year by year, and is now spreading not only in Japan but also in Australia and China, and is expanding to Asia Pacific.
