After announcing the suspension in 2000, LAGWAGON released the B-side Lea track album "Let's Talk About Leftovers" from the label My Records on Joey Cape. Joey has released two albums in BAD ASTRONAUT, which was formed with members of SUGARCULT and THE ATARIS during this pause. After LAGWAGON restarted, in April 2003 released the original 6th album "Blaze" for the first time in about five years.
In January 2005, he performed a Japan tour with LAGWAGON, MAD CADDIES, and ONLY CRIME at "Fat Wreck Chords Japan Tour 2005 vol.3", and released the first live album "Live in a Dive" the following month, and the 7th album "Resolve" in November of the same year. In November 2006, he will conduct a Japan tour entitled "JaPANDAmonium Tour". In August 2008, the EP "I Think My Older Brother Used to Listen to Lagwagon" was released, and in December of the same year, the Japan tour will be held again in Germany. He came to Japan at PUNKSPRING 2013 in March 2013, and performed alone with NOFX. In October 2014, he released the original 8th album "Hang" for the first time in nine years. In 2015, in addition to headline tours in each country, he came to Japan on Fat Wreck's 25th anniversary tour, UK tour with NOFX and ALKALINE TRIO, and "Fat Wrecked For 25 Years" held in Japan.
To date, he has performed at the world's most famous punk festivals including Vans Warped Tour, The Fest, Groezrock, Riot Fest, and Slam Dunk Festival, and has been conducting frequent tours while releasing solo works in the name of Joey Cape as well as LAGWAON. In October 2019, he released the latest 9th album, Railer, for the first time in five years. The work exploded with a rough, lively and energetic LAGWAGON-like speed and melancholy melody reminiscent of early momentum, and after a large-scale tour with FACE TO FACE and H2O in the United States, Japan, followed by a tour of Europe and Australia. The Japan Tour, which will be held for a long time as a single Germany in March 2020, was postponed to April 2023 due to the influence of COVID-19 infection and ended with SOLD OUT.
