Elvis Costello's first visit to Japan was the invitation of Tom's Cabin, the smallest promoter in Japan in 1978. At the Ginza Street Live at this time, the photos of Costello and The Attractions, dressed in school uniforms and played on a truck bed, have been handed down as legends of the history of Japanese Western music. And Steve Naive, the keyboard player at The Attractions, produced an album of British country duo My Darling Crementaine (= MDC). Elvis Costello and Steve came to Toms Cabin Hiroshi Asada to consult on a tour of MDC during their visit to Japan in April this year. Steve came to see Asada's country band on what to do with the back, and it was decided that the band of Hiroshi would be fine, so MDC's first visit to Japan was decided. All performances The flying Dumpling Brothers will try to back.
My Darling Crementaine My Darling Clementine (MDC) was formed in 2010 by Michael Weston King and Lu Dalglish as duo singing repertoires centered on country music in Birmingham, England. In 2020, she released the album "Country Darkness" of all songs by Elvis Costello on the Prodise of Steve Naive. It surprised critics with a novel approach that breathes a new breath into Costello's work, and it was well received by Elvis Costello fans for expressing his original emotions more deeply. This album "Country Darkness" will be released on September 25 from HAYABUSA LANDINGS as a commemorative release to Japan. Please look forward to your long-awaited first visit to Japan.
