OKI DUB AINU BAND / SUMA MUKAR Profile The Ainu Roots Band, led by OKI, who revived the traditional string instrument "Tonkori" of Karaft Ainu. It is popular for its heavy live sound, which is based on electrified Tonkori and reinforced with drums, and its transboundary DUB sound, which is a mixture of Upopo (song) sung by Ainu, Ri Muse (dance), Afro Groove, Reggae, rock, etc. He has been performing live mainly at overseas festivals, and has landed in Japan with the release of the album "OKI DUB AINU BAND" (2006). In addition to participating in WOMAD, known as the world's largest world music festival, he has toured around the world, including Asia, the United States, and Western Europe, and has performed at numerous festivals and events in Japan. In July 2010, he released the album "Sakhalin Rock" for the first time in four years, and performed in Taiwan and Nepal in addition to tours in Japan. In the spring of 2011, OKIx Naoyuki Uchida released the dub mix work "Himalayan Dub" with the same title. The long-awaited new album was announced in March 2016, and on March 5 (Saturday), the album release commemorative live will also be decided at Shibuya CLUB QUATTRO!
