BLONDE REDHEAD, who released "We are the Works in Progress" charity compilation with the aim of supporting Great East Japan Earthquake damage and reconstruction, will be performing in Japan!
A NY baseless art rock band formed mainly by Japanese Kaz Makino and twin brothers Amedeo and Simone from Milan. It was formed in 1993. Starting with the debut work "S/T" produced by Steve Shelly of SONIC YOUTH, he steadily released his work based on that TOUCH&GO. He transferred to 4AD from his sixth work "Misery Is a Butterfly" in 2004, and has now grown into a "super-large independent band" with tours with Red Hot Chiri Peppers and collaborations with Jim Jermush. In 2010's latest work "Penny Sparkle", the beauty experimental rock sound that lived together with unneurity and thrilling Saga is still alive.
In addition, following the last year's earthquake disaster, Kazu Makino planned and released the "We are the Works in Progress" project, which was attended by Deerhunter, Four Tet, Interpol David Sylvian/Ryuichi Sakamoto from their new label Asa Wa Kuru. The sales will be donated to the Japan Society and Architecture for Humanity and will continue to increase the number of support organizations.
