Jerry Douglas, a master of Dobro and who won the Grammy Prize 13 times, is like replacing Jimmy Hendrix with Electric Guitar with Resonator Guitar and Jerry Douglas, which can be said to have increased, changed, and redeveloped the possibilities of the Resonator Guitar in countless ways. In addition to being widely known as the master of state-of-the-art Dobro, Jerry Douglas is a free man and a recording artist who thinks very positively about things. His music is linked to his own musical concept, which combines elements such as bluegrass, country, rock, jazz and blues, and Celtic music.
Jerry Douglas, a 13-degree Grammy Award winner, is one of the most innovative recording artists of modern times, or as a solo member of the epoch-making bands such as JD Crow & the New South, Country Gen Tormen, Boone Creek, and Strength in Numbers, as "an unparalleled paper master of modern times." His unique tone can be heard in albums by Garth Brooks, Paul Simon, James Taylor, Elvis Costello, Art Scrags, Ray Charles, and more than 1,500 other artists.
Since 1998, Douglas has been a major member of "Alison Klaus & Union Station, Futuring Jerry Douglas" and has been conducting extensive tours with them, and in addition to performing in the series platinum album released by the band, he has produced jointly.
He also produces albums by Klaus, del McCurry Band, Mora O'Connell, and Jesse Winchester, and is also the co-director of the BBC's popular TV series Trans Atlantic Session. And in his latest album, "Traveler," the names of noteworthy friends such as Paul Simon, Mamford & Suns and Eric Crapton are listed as guests.
As a true pioneer in American music, Jerry Douglas will continue to have immense influences on Bluegrass and many related music genres.
