Along with Nirvana and Dynaso Jr, he has released a total of 16 official studio albums in 83-11 years as the frontman of Sonic Youth, a band representing the golden age of US alternatives. He has released four studio albums and many sessions/experimental works in solo. He was the headliner at the 3rd Hostess Club Weekender held in November 2000. In 2013, he formed a new band, Chelsea Light Moving, and released an album. In October 2014, he released his first solo album, The Best Day, for the first time in three years. In April 2017, he released his new album, Rock and Roll Consciousness.
