Formed in Denmark, centered on Andre Andersen, who had been active in a band called WITCH CROSS until then. The first vocalist, Hen Rick Blochman, renamed ROYAL HUNT at the same time as joining. The debut album "LAND OF BROKEN HEARTS" became a big topic when it was released in 1992, soaring import charts, and was finally released in Japan the following year. The album recorded an explosive hit, and the band immediately released its second album, "CROWN IN THE MIRROR", but Hen Rick left. The new D.C. Cooper came to Japan for the first time in 1994. By joining D.C. Cooper, the Royal Hunt will make a big leap forward. At the end of 1995, he released his third album "Moving Target" and succeeded in his second visit to Japan. In 1997, he released the concept album "PARADOX", also known as an immortal masterpiece in his career, and his performances in Japan were also very successful, and finally became the pinnacle of Melo Dick metal.
However, after a while, internal conflict broke out, and D.C. leaves the band. The band, who welcomed John West of ARTENSION as his successor, announced John's first album, FEAR, in 1999, and will also be performing in Japan in 2000. Furthermore, in 2001, "THE MISSION" was released and performed for the fifth time in Japan, and two years later, it was released as "EYE WITNESS", but the base Steve Mogensen and guitar Jacob Chière were withdrawn, and the band was temporarily suspended. In 2003, Marcus Idel officially joined the guitar successor, and in 2005, Kenneth Allsen returned to the drum to release "PAPER BLOOD". The band had been on track again, but at the stage of creating a new work, John West announced a sudden withdrawal.
The band will succeed YNGWIE J. Mark Balls, known for his activities at MALMSTEEN'S RISING FORCE and RING OF FIRE, joined, and Alan Solensen returned to the drummer, and in 2008, produced the new album "COLLISION COURCE", a sequel to "PARADOX", and will perform for the first time in about six years. With that momentum, the band started producing new works in 2009. With a visit to Japan at LOUD PARK09 on the way, he will present a new work "X" that returned to Andre's roots in 2010. Then, in 2011, there was news that D.C. Cooper, who was the early singer, would return on a one-time tour, and in April 2011, a complete reproduction of the masterpiece "PARADOX" and a set list with early songs were performed in Japan, and the good compatibility between D.C. and Royal Hunt was reaffirmed, and D.C. Jonas Lasen, who came to Japan as a support guitarist, also released a new work "SHOW ME HOW TO LIVE" in a form that has officially joined. The band subsequently released the best album "20TH ANNIVERSARY: SPECIAL EDITON", which summarizes his activities so far, and released "A LIFE TO DIE FOR" in 2013. After the performance in Japan accompanying this album, Andre made a statement that the band activity was suspended, but in 2015 she released the album "DEVIL'S DOZEN" and came to Japan to perform at the festival, and in 2016 she also visited Japan alone. Furthermore, in 2016, he performed a tour of the 25th anniversary of his debut, and released his live album. Then he started recording, and the release of the new album was decided in 2018, and the accompanying performance in Japan was decided in April. It will be my first visit to Japan in 2 years.
